What is Reflexology?
Click here: What Does the Research Say about Reflexology?
“Reflexology is a natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears, which correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body. Through the application of pressure on these reflexes, reflexology relieves tension, improves circulation, and helps promote the natural function of the related areas of the body”. - RAC Foot Reflexology Manual.
Following illness, stress, injury or disease, the body is in a state of ‘imbalance’ and vital pathways are blocked. This prevents the body from functioning effectively.
Through the application of gentle pressure on these reflex points, blockages can be released and pathways unblocked. This facilitates the body back to its natural balance, which is called homeostasis. The role of the Reflexologist is to help facilitate the WHOLE BODY, to normalize itself naturally, without any adverse side effects.
Reflexology is not a massage.
Reflexologist DOES NOT: Diagnose, Prescribe or Treat for specific conditions.
*Reflexology is a complementary therapy and should NOT be considered to be an alternative to conventional medicine. Clients are encouraged to discuss the option of reflexology with their other health care professionals prior to starting a treatment.
